I’m interested in the ways many of the tricky problems we face are connected, and in how keeping these connections in mind can help us find better solutions. I enjoy imagining and telling stories about how the world could be.
My background
I grew up in Aotearoa/New Zealand and became interested in climate change and water resources as a teenager. This guided my choice of subjects at school, and my choice to study physical geography and French at university. After a year doing Volunteer Service Abroad and a couple of years working in hospitality and at the New Zealand Parliament, I got my dream role as a climate change policy analyst.
I spent the following years working in various climate roles, including legislative reform, governance, in the Minister’s private office, as a consultant working on climate-related financial disclosures, and on climate resilience at the UK’s energy regulator.
I see climate change as just one symptom of a larger problem: disconnection from the land and environment we are part of, and concentration of too much power under a handful of people and corporations. My interest is in working in a variety of ways to address these core issues, including environment and climate but also in other areas such as:
Strengthening communities
Improving democratic processes
Enabling access to land
I’m based in London and am building a portfolio career where I can work on a range of projects.
